Land distribution for returnees begin in Daikundi, ministry

KABUL: The Commission for Addressing Refugees’ Issues commenced the process of land distribution for returnees in Daikundi province, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said in a statement on Monday.

A ceremony held on this occasion, was participated by a number of government officials, including Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of the Staff of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of National Defense, representatives from Da Afghanistan Bank, the Railways, and Physical Education authorities, as well as local officials and elders, the statement said.

Speaking in a ceremony, Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat stated that his visit to Daikundi aims to closely observe the issues of refugees and initiate the land distribution process for them.

According to the statement, he emphasized that the Islamic Emirate, as a responsible government, is fully committed to addressing the challenges faced by refugees and ensuring their permanent settlement in the country.

“After finalizing the procedure, approved by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate Shaikh Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada, all returnees and needy people will receive land in the country,” the statement quoted Fitrat as saying.

Meanwhile, the provincial Governor, Mawlavi Najibullah Rafi, assured refugees that, in line with the elders’ instructions, the land would be distributed fairly to those deserving.
