KABUL: Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, during a press conference, has officially announced his resignation from his position and leadership of the Liberal Party.
He stated that although he is stepping down, he will continue to perform his duties temporarily until a new leader of the Liberal Party and a new Prime Minister are appointed.
Trudeau has also suspended the activities of the Canadian Parliament until March 24 of this year, calling for new elections in the country.
Reports indicate that the reason for Trudeau’s resignation is a decline in his popularity within the Liberal Party, particularly in recent years due to rising prices and a decrease in affordable housing.
