KABUL: The Acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Mawlavi Ataullah Omari, has met with Mohammad Murad Amanov, the head of the TAPI project, here in Kabul, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, in the meeting, the two sides talked about the acquisition of land along the TAPI project route (the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India) and extending the project’s contract.
The strategic importance of the TAPI project for the involved countries was also highlighted during the discussions between the two sides, said the statement.
The practical work on the TAPI project has been intensively ongoing within Afghan territory, particularly in Herat province, for several months now.
