Commercial and residential market worth 29 million Afghani to be built in Nangarhar

KABUL: A contract for the construction of the Al-Fath commercial and residential market in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province, has been signed in a partnership between the private sector and the Islamic Emirate, with an investment of 29 million Afghanis.

The Islamic Emirate’s Administration Affairs, in a statement, said Monday, that the construction company of Burhanzai will build the commercial and residential market on government-owned land.

Mawlavi Engineer Ahmad Zia Khalid, head of the Investment Facilitation Department of the Administrative Affairs, stated that the purpose of constructing this market is to utilize government properties and increase revenue.

“The Islamic Emirate expects a revenue of 52 million Afghanis from this project, and its construction will provide job opportunities for 200 people,” the statement quoted him as saying.
