KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, during a ceremony on Monday, celebrated the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and the People’s Republic of China, here in Kabul, Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesperson for the ministry said.
According to the statement, the meeting was attended by Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Zhao Xing, the Chinese ambassador to Kabul, as well as several diplomats from Afghanistan and China, and university professors.
Participants discussed the significance of the diplomatic relationship between Kabul and Beijing during various developments.
They also emphasized the need to enhance and strengthen diplomatic, political, economic, and trade relations between Afghanistan and China.
China has maintained extensive political, economic, and trade relations with Afghanistan over the past three years and was the first country to recognize the credentials of the Islamic Emirate’s ambassador.
