Work on 19 water projects worth around 50 million Afghanis launched in Laghman


KABUL: The Ministry of Water and Energy said in a statement today that work on 19 water storage and pipeline projects, worth over 49.2 million Afghanis have been commenced in Laghman province.

The project with the financial support of the World Food Programme (WFP) will be implemented in the Bagh Wakel Khan and Gulghundi area of Qarghayee district of Laghman province, said the statement.

The provincial director of Water and Energy Mawlavi Sheer Jan Rashid, during the inauguration ceremony, highlighted the social and economic value of these projects. The implementation of the projects will create job opportunities for dozens of residents of the district.
