KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, has stated that using available opportunities, the Qatari businessmen can invest in Afghanistan.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Dr. Mirdef Al-Qashouti, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Qatari Embassy in Kabul, today.
Assuring the Islamic Emirate’s full cooperation with Qatari investors, Mullah Baradar expressed gratitude for Qatar’s role in hosting peace talks regarding Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Qatari Chargé d’Affaires mentioned that his country is interested in expanding bilateral relations and increasing cargo and passenger flights to Afghanistan.
He also emphasized that the construction of a 400-bed hospital in the Mirwais Hospital complex in Kandahar will begin soon.
Qatar has maintained extensive political relations with Afghanistan over the past three years and has hosted three rounds of United Nations meetings regarding the country.
