IEA rejects Pakistani UN representative’s allegations regarding Afghanistan

KABUL: Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, in a statement on Tuesday rejected recent allegations made by Munir Akram, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, regarding Afghanistan, calling them baseless.

“It is clear to the international community that since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, ISIS and other groups have been eliminated, and incidents occurring in Afghanistan are organized from the other side of the Durand Line,” said the statement.

The Islamic Emirate, pointing to the international community, said: “Some countries are focusing on negative propaganda against Afghanistan instead of working on internal policies to strengthen political, economic, and security stability, are attempting to create distrust between the international community and the Islamic Emirate.”

Recently, Munir Akram stated in a UN Security Council session that ISIS is recruiting in Afghanistan.
