Over 50 prisoners released from Kandahar and Parwan jails

KABUL: Based on a decree of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), Shaikh Mawlavi Hebatullah Akhundzada, 51 prisoners have been released from the central prisons of Kandahar and Parwan provinces.

According to the officials, the sentence of 138 prisoners in Kandahar and 102 prisoners in Parwan have been reduced.

Shaikh Abdul Rahim Ahmad, Head of Parwan’s jail, said that women are included among the prisoners.

Currently, there are 540 prisoners in Parwan prison, said the officials.

Expressing gratitude, the released individuals described clemency as a second chance to rebuild their lives, promising to move forward with responsibility and leave past mistakes behind.
