Rural Minister kicks off construction of 17-kilometer road in Kandahar

KABUL: The construction of a 17-kilometer road, costing 30 million Afghanis, kicked off by Mullah Mohammad Younus Akhundzada, acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Kandahar province.

The Ministry said in a statement on Saturday night to Radio Omid that the acting minister, during the commencement of the road, stated that one of the ministry’s goals is to connect villages and provide services and facilities to rural residents.

The road will be constructed in the Maiwand district of Kandahar province, and its completion is expected to alleviate transportation issues of the residents of the area.

The implementation of the project will also create job opportunities for dozens of individuals.

Two days ago, the acting minister also inaugurated the construction and graveling of two roads in Helmand province.
