Houthi Forces launch missile attack on U.S. warplanes

KABUL: The Houthi forces targeted U.S. fighter jets and drones with surface-to-air missiles, U.S. officials have confirmed.

Reuters, citing two American officials on Saturday night reported that the attacks indicate that Houthi forces in Yemen have gained advanced military capabilities.

“The missiles fired by the Houthis did not hit the U.S. aircraft,” Reuters quoted officials as saying.

The acknowledgment of the Houthis’ enhanced military capabilities comes after their leader recently warned that Yemen would not remain passive in the event of further attacks by the Israeli regime and the U.S. on Gaza.

Previously, Houthi forces have also attacked U.S. warplanes and naval vessels in the Red Sea.
