KABUL: The Omid Radio correspondent in Nangarhar, reported that several journalists were injured during an assault by Pakistani border forces at the Torkham township today.
The injured included Wali Mohammad Shinwari, a photographer for Pajhwok News Agency, Hedayat Shah Hidayat, a reporter for Shamshad TV, and Azizul Hassan Nomani, a reporter from Hurryat Radio.
Sahrgul Ehsas, an Omid Radio correspondent, who was in the area to cover the clashes, stated they were injured as a result of the Pakistani force’s mortar attack.
According to Mr. Ehsas, the injured journalists are receiving treatment at a hospital in Torkham township, and their health condition is improving.
It is noteworthy that the Pakistani side has kept the Torkham border crossing closed for nearly the past two weeks.
