Health Minister wants to transform mobile health teams into permanent centers

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Public Health Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, in a meeting with the UNFPA representative in Afghanistan, Kwabena Asante-Ntiamoah, has called for mobile health teams to be transformed into permanent health centers.
According to a statement from the ministry on Monday, in the meeting, the two sides talked about improving the management of health aid in Afghanistan, strengthening the health system, the effectiveness of mobile health teams, and aligning health services with the Ministry’s policies and priorities.
Minister Jalali stated: “The effectiveness of health services provided by mobile teams would increase significantly if they were converted into permanent centers.”
He also emphasized the importance of aligning health services with the Ministry’s policies and improving the management of international aid to the health sector.
This comes as some mobile teams are currently providing health services to people in remote areas.
