KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations, has signed four Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) worth $7,385,850 with international institutions.
The MoUs were signed by Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Rashid, the professional deputy Minister of Refugees and Repatriations, and representatives from organizations of the GRS, Danish Refugee Council, and the Afghanistan Rural Rehabilitation Agency, according to a statement from the ministry on Wednesday.
The funds will be used for cash assistance distribution, shelter protection and improvement, installation of solar energy equipment, technical training, and capacity building for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and returnees, said the statement.
According to the statement, 37,718 individuals, including 860 families, are expected to benefit from the MoUs in Kabul, Herat, Farah, Nangarhar, Nuristan, and Kunar provinces.
Efforts are underway by the Emirati institutions to provide facilities to the returnees and support internally displaced individuals.
