Mark Carney sworn in as Canada’s new Prime Minister, replacing Trudeau

KABUL: The new Prime Minister of Canada and leader of the Liberal Party, Mark Carney, has officially begun his term by taking an oath of loyalty, Reuters reported on Friday night.
According to the report, the new Prime Minister plans to strengthen relations between Canada and Europe, with upcoming visits to London and Paris to meet and discuss with officials from both countries.
Carney is tasked with leading Canada in its fight against the 25% tariffs imposed by the United States.
He is the 24th Prime Minister of Canada and is expected to remain in this position until the end of the current year.
A general election is scheduled for October this year, during which a new Prime Minister will be elected.
Mark Carney was appointed as Trudeau’s successor by the ruling Liberal Party more than two months after Justin Trudeau’s resignation.
