KABUL: Shaikh Neda Mohammad Nadeem, the Acting Minister of Higher Education, stated that every Muslim should acquire modern knowledge in their field while preserving the value of religious knowledge.
According to a statement from the ministry on Sunday, speaking at a large gathering of university professors and students in Kandahar province, he urged educators to strive for the healthy upbringing of the youth of the country.
“The Holy Quran is the law of the Islamic system, guiding individuals towards success in both worldly and spiritual matters,” the statement quoted him as saying.
The gathering, held at the grand mosque of Kandahar, also featured the Dean of the university and the deputy head of the provincial Council of Scholars, both of whom underscored the importance of acquiring both religious and modern sciences.
This comes as Minister Nadeem has previously reiterated the necessity of integrating religious and modern education in the country.
