KABUL: The office of the Prime Minister of Israel said in a statement on Sunday that, following escalating tensions between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ronen Bar, the head of internal security, Bar is likely to be dismissed this week.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister summoned the head of internal security and informed him that his dismissal would be put to a vote in the cabinet this week.
Meanwhile, Israeli media have reported that the dispute between Bar and Netanyahu stems from disagreements over Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip.
As of now, Ronen Bar has not commented on his interactions with the Prime Minister or the impending decision regarding his dismissal.
Previously, the Israeli Defense Minister was also dismissed after increasing conflicts with Benjamin Netanyahu.
