New Canadian Prime Minister condemns Trump’s offensive remarks

KABUL: Mark Carney, the new Prime Minister of Canada, on Monday night condemned the offensive statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump about his country during his first foreign trip to the United Kingdom after France.

The Canadian Prime Minister emphasized that Trump should refrain from making derogatory remarks about Canada before the negotiations between Washington and Ottawa over imposed tariffs begin.

He called the U.S. President’s comments regarding Canada ineffective and unacceptable.

This Canadian official expressed his country’s readiness for bilateral discussions on security and trade issues if the U.S. is willing to engage in dialogue.

Previously, Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened that Canada should become the fifty-first state of the United States.
