Ministry of Finance, Central Bank sign Payment Systems Integration agreement

KABUL: The officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank have signed an agreement for the integration of payment systems (Edeniz), Radio Omid correspondent reported today.

The agreement was signed by Abdul Qadir Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Finance, and Sediqullah Khalid, Deputy of the Central Bank.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sediqullah Khalid, the First Deputy of the Central Bank, stated that the integration of payment systems between the bank and the Ministry of Finance is a significant step towards strengthening the financial infrastructure, accelerating payment processes, and ensuring transparency and efficiency in the country’s financial operations.

“Through this initiative, not only will national revenue collection, expense management, and salary administration become easier, but traders and financial institutions will also be able to conduct their transactions more effectively,” Khalid said.

The payment systems integration is a modern financial method designed in light of information technology, ensuring transparency in financial operations while reducing bureaucracy.
