KABUL: The Torkham Gate, which has been closed to transit vehicles and pedestrians for the past 27 days, has just been reopened.
According to Radio Omid reporter, the gate is currently allowing the transit of trucks from Pakistan into Afghanistan, and Afghan trucks will also be permitted to travel to Pakistan.
While pedestrians and travelers have not yet been granted access, it is expected that the route will be opened for them by tomorrow or Friday.
It is noteworthy that the Torkham Gate has been closed for nearly a month for all types of movement, and recent bilateral meetings have led to an agreement on reopening the gate.
