Islamic Emirate released American prisoner as humanitarian gesture

KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said in a statement that the Islamic Emirate released an American prisoner,

George Glezmann, as part of a humanitarian initiative.

The statement highlighted that the resolution of all issues is achievable through dialogue, understanding, and diplomacy, and this action is aimed at mutual respect between Afghanistan and the United States.

Today, the Islamic Emirate freed George Glezmann as a humanitarian measure.

” As always, the Islamic Emirate believes in finding solutions to all matters through conversation, understanding, and diplomacy, and the step taken for the release of the American citizen is also made in good faith,” the statement said.

This release occurred following the visit of the U.S. representative for Prisoner Affairs and the former U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan to Kabul, where they engaged in discussions with Afghan officials.
