Torkham Crossing will not reopen for traffic on Friday

KABUL: Abdul Jabbar Hikmat, the Islamic Emirate’s commissioner at Torkham, stated today that the Torkham crossing, which was scheduled to be opened for pedestrian traffic today, will not be reopened.

According to him, the Torkham crossing will not be opened by Pakistani border forces due to some technical issues on the other side of the Durand Line.

Based on an agreement between Afghan and Pakistani traders, the Torkham crossing was supposed to be opened today for the passage of pedestrians, migrants, and patients.

The crossing was reopened two days ago for transit convoys in both directions after being closed for about a month.
