Mullah Baradar kicks off construction work on Arghandi Transport Terminal worth around 1.3 billion Afghanis in Kabul

KABUL: The construction work on the Arghandi Transport Terminal in Kabul, worth nearly 1.3 billion Afghanis, during a ceremony, has been launched by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, on Sunday.
Speaking in the ceremony, Mullah Baradar Akhund called the commencement of the terminal’s construction as an important step towards strengthening transportation infrastructure in the country, emphasizing that attention to transportation infrastructure is crucial for economic growth, progress, and internal connectivity.
Due to prolonged conflicts and the presence of corruption, enough attention has not been paid to the transportation sector, he said.
“Investing in transportation and communication infrastructures, recovering confiscated properties, and identifying and restoring the main corridors of roads are among the fundamental objectives of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan,” Mullah Baradar added.
The Arghandi Transport Terminal will be built on an area of 900 acres of land by the private sector, in a fundamental, and standard manner within the next two years.
It is worth mentioning that the construction of transport terminals in the outskirts of the capital Kabul is considered essential for managing traffic flow between the provinces and the capital.
