KABUL: Anti-government protests in Turkey are expanding and gaining momentum.
France Press reported on Monday that thousands of university students joined the protesters opposing the government of President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan on the latest night of demonstrations.
The anti-government protests have been ongoing for six nights, with demonstrators continuing despite efforts by riot police using water cannons, pepper spray, and widespread arrests.
The protests have not only persisted but have also intensified during this period.
Yesterday, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that over 1,300 protesters have been detained by police.
Meanwhile, European countries have expressed concern regarding these protests and the government’s treatment of demonstrators.
