KABUL: Pakistan has announced that the first day of Eid al-Fitr will be observed on the upcoming Monday, without sighting the moon for the month of Shawwal across the country.
The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) stated that the decision to declare Monday as Eid was based on scientific evaluations, astronomical calculations, and other estimates.
The commission also mentioned that it is possible for Riyadh and Islamabad to celebrate Eid on the same day.
Also, the government has announced a three-day holiday across the country in celebration of Eid.
