KABUL: Mike Waltz, national security adviser of the United States, has confessed to accepting responsibility for leaking the content of a highly sensitive messaging platform after a day of reflection.
Axios media reported this morning that the U.S. national security adviser stated that he fully acknowledges the “shameful” nature of this issue and is willing to pursue it to the very end.
He added that he was the one who created this messaging platform and that the responsibility lies with him.
Two days ago, American media revealed that sensitive content regarding the U.S. attack on Houthi targets in Yemen had leaked from an online messaging group that included the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of State, National Security Adviser, and the Director of National Intelligence.
In addition to senior U.S. government officials, the editor of The Atlantic, was also included in this security group, which was established on March 11 of this year.
The leakage of this information constitutes a violation of U.S. national security laws and carries legal repercussions.
