Mawlavi Kabir to Al-Qashouti; 46 residential townships to be constructed for returnees

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriations Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, stated during a meeting with Mirdef Al-Qashouti, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Qatari Embassy in Kabul, that there are plans to construct 46 residential townships for returnees in the country.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation on Thursday, in the meeting, the acting minister expressed that the ministry aims to address the permanent challenges faced by returnees and asked Qatar and other charitable foundations to cooperate in the construction of the residential townships.
Meanwhile, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Qatari Embassy in Kabul assured his country’s continued support for Afghan returnees.
He urged the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation to work appropriately with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees regarding the return of migrants from Afghanistan’s neighboring countries.
Qatar has previously provided assistance not only in the health and humanitarian sectors but also in addressing the issues faced by returnees.
