KABUL: The Acting Ministers of National Defense, Mawlavi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid and the Acting Minister of Interior Affairs, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, and Director of General Intelligence, Mullah Abdul Haq Wasiq, in a meeting with the Amir-ul-Momineen Shaikh-ul-Hadith Mawlavi Hebatullah Akhundzada, presented their reports on the country’s security situation.
Mawlawi Zabiullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said in a statement on Thursday night that the meeting took place in Kandahar province and was also attended by Mawlavi Abdul Qayyum Zakir, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Mawlavi Mohammad Nabi Omari, Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs.
The three defense, security, and intelligence institutions’ suggestions were heard, and necessary directives were issued regarding their operational tasks, the statement said.
The statement also mentioned that necessary decisions were taken regarding better organization, equipping, and capacity building.
This meeting comes at a time when some propaganda was spreading regarding disagreements among the leadership of the Islamic Emirate with some senior officials in the country.
