Powerful earthquake claims 140 lives and leaves over 700 injured in Myanmar 

KABUL: As a result of a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, 140 people have lost their lives, and over 700 others are injured, Government officials confirmed.

According to Reuters this morning, the officials of Myanmar have confirmed that many buildings have collapsed due to this natural disaster, and several infrastructure systems have been destroyed in the country.

The report noted that the city of Mandalay, the second-largest city in Myanmar, has suffered the most damage.

Min Aung Hlaing, the leader of Myanmar’s military government, stated that there is a possibility of an increase in the number of earthquake victims in the country.

He has called on all nations for assistance in addressing the needs of the victims and those affected by the earthquake.

U.S. President Donald Trump has promised that the United States will provide aid to the earthquake victims in Myanmar.
