Mawlavi Mujahid welcomes Russian prosecutor’s request to remove IEA from banned lists

KABUL: Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, has welcomed the request of Russia’s Prosecutor General to remove the Islamic Emirate from the list of banned groups.

In an interview with Russia’s state-run TASS news agency, Mujahid emphasized that these steps will contribute to strengthening relations between Afghanistan and Russia, as well as the peoples of both countries.

He called the recent request of the Russian Prosecutor General as a valuable step, adding that they believe every effort to solidify relations between Afghanistan and Russia is a positive move.

Two days ago, the Interfax news agency reported that the Russian Prosecutor General had requested the court to remove the Islamic Emirate from the country’s list of banned groups.

According to the report, the request is set to be reviewed by the court on 27 Hamal of the current solar year.
