KABUL: The General Directorate of Sports and Physical Education of the country, in a statement on Thursday, announced the organization of a youth football festival (Grassroots) with the participation of 200 athletes in Kabul.
According to the statement, the festival was organized by the Football Federation in collaboration with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and was held for one day.
Participating athletes competed in a total of 10 teams.
The aim of the youth football festival, which saw the participation of young and adolescent athletes, was to encourage this category of athletes.
Efforts are ongoing to identify elite sports figures across various categories and sports disciplines.
