KABUL: The Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) said in a statement on Saturday that food prices decreased by 0.2% in the last month of the year 1403.
Based on the collection and analysis of consumer price data, it has been indicated that in the month of Hoot, the prices of grains decreased by 5.6%, oils by 5.9%, and vegetables by 3.1% in the country, the statement said.
The prices of non-food items, including clothing, also showed a decrease of 4.4%, and household goods decreased by 2.4%, said the statement, adding that inflation for consumer goods also fell by 0.5% last month.
The provided statistics reflect a 3.1% decrease in the exchange rate of the dollar against the Afghani currency.
Efforts are underway by the Islamic Emirate authorities to control the market and essential items have contributed to the reduction in consumer goods prices.
