KABUL: The construction of a vehicle terminal valued at 162 million Afghanis, has begun in the Pul-e-Charkhi area of the capital Kabul, Radio Omid correspondent reported on Sunday.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by government officials and local residents.
The terminal will be constructed within 8 months on a 7.2 jerib area of land in eastern Kabul, from the budget of the Islamic Emirate, aiming to facilitate ground transportation in the eastern zone of the country.
Speaking in the ceremony, Sediqullah Abid, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, stated that the lack of terminals is one of the fundamental challenges in the transportation sector in the country.

The investments have either come from the Islamic Emirate’s budget or the private sector, he further added.
In the past three weeks, this is the fourth terminal construction project to commence in Kabul, Ghazni, and Kandahar.
