Araghchi emphasizes pursuit of bilateral agreement between Kabul, Tehran for gradual return of Afghan migrants

KABUL: Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has emphasized the importance of pursuing the bilateral agreement between Afghan and Iranian officials for the gradual return of Afghan migrants to their home.

According to a statement from the Iranian embassy in Kabul on Monday night, Araghchi, during a meeting with Ali Reza Bigdeli, the Iranian ambassador to Kabul, stressed the serious pursuit of other bilateral agreements between Kabul and Tehran, including the gradual return of Afghan migrants.

The Iranian Foreign Minister highlighted the significance of relations between Afghanistan and Iran as two neighboring Muslim countries, deeming the follow-up on these issues essential.

The statement also mentioned that Araghchi and Bigdeli reviewed the current status of relations between Afghanistan and Iran.

The meeting comes after a delegation led by Mohammad Reza Bahrami, advisor to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, visited Kabul to meet with officials of the Islamic Emirate.
