Mawlawi Kabir chairs meeting on improving facilities and management of returnees, Ministry

KABUL: A meeting to enhance facilities and management for returning refugees has been held with the Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriations Mawlavi Abdul Kabir on the chair, the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, the discussions focused on temporary housing for returnees, emergency healthcare services, refugee registration and verification, as well as several other essential services.
During the meeting, a delegation led by the Deputy Administrative Affairs Minister was tasked with visiting the refugee camp in Torkham to assess existing facilities and needs and to share their reports back to the ministry.
In recent months, the Pakistani government has detained thousands of Afghan refugees under the pretext of illegal residency, subjecting them to difficult circumstances.
