KABUL: Beijing has announced that starting tomorrow, an 84% tariff will be imposed on American goods.
The decision follows the tariffs placed on Chinese products by Donald Trump, prompting China to reciprocate with its own 84% tariffs on American exports.
Previously, China had already levied a 34% tariff on American goods.
The imposition of this new 84% tariff by China has negatively impacted global financial markets, leading to a decline in the U.S. stock markets.
The announcement comes as Donald Trump has increased tariffs on almost all countries, including China, in recent policies.
