KABUL: Shaikh Maulana Islamjar, governor of Herat, has met with representatives from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
In the meeting, the organization’s representatives shared their work programs and discussed the implementation of new agricultural projects and further cooperation, according to a statement from the Herat governor’s press office.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Herat stressed the importance of expanding collaboration with the FAO and highlighted the urgent need to prevent sedimentation in the Salma and Pashdan dam areas.
He noted that planting saplings around these dams would play a significant role in reducing sedimentation, protecting the environment, and combating climate change.
