Kabul-Tehran economic agreement: Follow-up meeting of joint technical committee held

KABUL: A follow-up meeting of the joint technical committee between Kabul and Tehran was held to ensure the full implementation of the economic agreement between the two countries, the Office of the Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the meeting addressed various topics, including increasing trade, resolving existing issues in transit, mechanizing Afghanistan’s agricultural sector, implementing decisions made in the transport sector, investing in Afghanistan’s mining sector, and providing additional facilities in customs.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of fully implementing the economic agreement, with plans for ongoing follow-up meetings.
The agreement contains 92 articles covering trade, transit, transport, agriculture, mining, and several other areas, which, when implemented, will significantly enhance trade levels between the two countries.
