Afghan refugees’ situation and humanitarian assistance discussed

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriations, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the UK, Robert Charterton Dixon, to discuss the situation of Afghan refugees and humanitarian assistance.

The ministry said in a statement that during the meeting, Robert Dixon referenced a proposal prepared by the United Nations, affirming that the UK is committed to supporting Afghans and maintaining lasting relations with Afghanistan.

Mawlavi Abdul Kabir expressed gratitude for the UK’s assistance and mentioned that 46 townships have been designated for repatriated Afghans in various regions of the country, emphasizing the importance of UK cooperation in this regard.

He reiterated that the Islamic Emirate is committed to effectively managing the repatriation process and safeguarding the rights of returnees.
