KABUL: Special Representative of Donald Trump the President of the United States, Steve Witkoff, met with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, regarding the end of the Ukraine war, Reuters reported this morning.
According to the reports, President Putin welcomed Trump’s representative in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and Russian media stated that the discussions between the two parties lasted four hours.
The Kremlin issued a statement at the end of the meeting, indicating that the dimensions of ending the Ukraine war were discussed.
Details of the discussions between Trump’s special envoy and the Russian President have not yet been disclosed.
This is the third meeting of an American diplomatic delegation regarding the end of the Ukraine war with the Kremlin leader since the beginning of Donald Trump’s second presidential term.
So far, these efforts have not yielded tangible results on the battlefields between Russia and Ukraine, as Kyiv continues to claim attacks on its energy facilities by Moscow despite a one-month ceasefire.
