KABUL: Iran’s ambassador to Kabul, Mohammad Reza Bigdeli, said that the construction of the Farah-Mahirud highway will be completed in the current solar year, the embassy said in a statement on its X on Saturday night.
According to the statement, Bigdeli assured the completion of the highway’s construction during the year 1404 after inspecting the progress of the work.
The embassy did not provide further details regarding Mohammad Reza Bigdeli’s visit to observe the ongoing construction of the road.
The Farah-Mahirud highway is a border road between Afghanistan and Iran, which is currently under construction.
This highway, which will be 120 kilometers long, is expected to shorten the 400-kilometer transit route for goods between Iran, Afghanistan, and Central Asia.
