KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, criticized the treatment of Afghan migrants by the Pakistani government and called is as harmful to the relations between Kabul and Islamabad.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Ubaid ur Rehman Nizamani, the acting head of the Pakistani embassy in Kabul, Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesman of the ministry said in a statement today.
In the meeting, Minister Mutaqi expressed regret over the way some Pakistani organizations treat Afghan refugees and called for a change in approach.
Meanwhile, the acting head of the Pakistani embassy in Kabul acknowledged the concerns of Afghan officials and stated that he would raise the issue with his government.
According to the statement, both sides have emphasized taking effective measures and exchanging bilateral delegations.
The statement also noted that political and economic relations, along with other issues between Afghanistan and Pakistan, were discussed during the meeting.
