Release of nearly 100 Afghans from Pakistani jails

KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations stated today that 96 Afghan citizens have recently been released from Pakistani prisons, entered Afghanistan through Spin Boldak in Kandahar province yesterday.
According to the Ministry, the released citizens were detained and imprisoned by Pakistani police due to a lack of valid residency documents in Pakistan.
Each of the released prisoners spent five days in Pakistani jails.
This comes after the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, criticized the inappropriate treatment of Afghan migrants by certain government agencies in Pakistan during a meeting with the head of the Pakistani embassy in Kabul.
