KABUL: Direct flights between Kabul and Urumqi, China, have officially commenced today during a ceremony attended by officials from both countries in Kabul.
According to a statement from the State-Owned Corporation, Afghanistan’s Ariana Airlines will operate direct flights from Kabul to Urumqi twice a week.
Mawlavi Ahmad Jan Bilal, the State-Owned Corporation, described the launch of these flights as a significant step forward in trade relations between Afghanistan and China.
He emphasized that the Islamic Emirate is committed to the growth and development of Emirati companies, particularly Ariana Airlines.
Speaking at the ceremony, Zhao Xing, the Chinese Ambassador, stated that the increase in flights between China and Afghanistan would positively impact trade levels and foster closer ties between the two nations.
According to officials from Ariana Airlines, the state-owned company is making every effort to modernize its operational systems.
