WFP runs out of food stocks in Gaza as aid block persists

KABUL: The World Food Program (WFP) has announced that food supplies in the Gaza Strip have been depleted, leaving nothing for cooking for the victims of Israeli attacks in the enclave.

In a statement released on Friday night, the WFP reported the end of its food reserves in Gaza and the closure of its supported kitchens.

The organization noted that no food aid shipments have reached Gaza in the past seven weeks, and the lack of clean water and fuel for cooking are also serious concerns.

According to the statement, the border crossings of the Gaza Strip have been closed by the Israeli regime to vital humanitarian aid for nearly two months, marking the longest border blockade in Gaza’s history.

The WFP added that a 1,400% increase in the prices of basic necessities compared to the time of the ceasefire poses serious concerns for vulnerable groups, including children and women.

Meanwhile, the Israeli regime continues to use the starvation of civilians in Gaza as a weapon against the Hamas movement, insisting on meeting its demands.
