KABUL: The National Examination Authority has announced the schedule and method for conducting the national entrance exam (Kankor) in the country.
Shaikh Abdul Baqi Haqqani, head of the National Examination Authority, in a press conference said today that preparations for this year’s Kankor exam have been finalized and will take place in five phases, starting from the 7th of Jawza until 20th of Saratan across the country.
According to Haqqani, candidates in the provinces of Wardak, Logar, Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa, Ghazni, Paktika, Baghlan, Ghor, Bamyan, and Daikundi will participate in the first phase, the provinces of Nangarhar, Kandahar, Nimroz, Paktia, Nuristan, Laghman, Helmand, Zabul, Kunar, Khost, Farah, and Urozgan in the second phase, the candidates from Takhar, Jawzjan, Badghis, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pol, Herat, Balkh, Faryab, Samangan, and Badakhshan, in third phase while the capital, Kabul, will host the fourth phase.
The fifth phase will be specifically for graduates of religious schools, 14-pass candidates, absentees from provinces, overseas graduates, and evening university students.
The National Examination Authority has stated that new questions have been added to the Kankor question bank based on the existing curriculum of the Ministry of Education.
Kankor is considered one of the major national exams, providing thousands of twelfth-grade graduates with the opportunity to pursue higher education.
