Minister Muttaqi discusses bilateral political, trade, and transit relations with Indian official

KABUL: The Special Representative of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and head of the department for Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan, Anand Prakash, met with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, here in Kabul.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, the two sides discussed bilateral relations in political, trade, and transit sectors, as well as the latest political developments in the region.
The Acting Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of expanding relations in these areas between New Delhi and Kabul and urged Indian investors to take advantage of the opportunities available in Afghanistan.
He also called for facilitating travel between India and Afghanistan and stressed the need for India to issue visas to Afghan traders, patients, and students.
The Indian Special Representative described the relationship between Kabul and New Delhi as significant and expressed hope for its further enhancement.
He added that India aims to complete its uplift projects in Afghanistan and invest in other infrastructure initiatives.
This comes amid an increase in diplomatic meetings between Afghanistan and India in recent months.
