KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, has held a phone conversation with his Uzbek counterpart, Bakhtiyor Saidov.
In a statement, Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, head of media and public relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that both sides discussed strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as the development of political, economic, and transit cooperation.
The Uzbek Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction with the existing good relations between the two countries, noting that Afghanistan’s exports to Uzbekistan have increased threefold.
Minister Muttaqi also emphasized the importance of implementing the Afghan-Tan transit economic project and ensuring full readiness for strengthening political, trade, and transit cooperation.
According to the statement, both sides reiterated the importance of continuing their relations and decided to coordinate diplomatically regarding the precise date and location of a trilateral meeting, which will include Pakistan.
According to the ministry, the two sides also reiterated the continuation of relations and decided to continue coordinating through diplomatic channels to determine the exact date and venue of the trilateral meeting, including Pakistan.
