KABUL: As a result of a vehicle attack in Canada at least eight people were killed and six others were injured, Global News reported today.
According to the reports, a driver of an SUV attacked a group of people on a street in Vancouver on Saturday night, running over several individuals, including women and children.
While the police have not officially released casualty figures, the media cites sources confirming eight deaths and six injuries.
The Vancouver police have acknowledged the occurrence of the incident but have not provided further details.
It is reported that the crowd targeted on Fraser Street in East Vancouver who were attending the “Lapu Lapu” festival.
The driver has been arrested by the police, and an investigation into the incident has begun.
Attacks on civilian crowds by vehicles are not unprecedented in Western countries.
