KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement today that the police personnel of the ministry have successfully arrested a five-member kidnapping gang in the country’s northern province of Sar-e-Pul.
According to the statement, this group was apprehended along with two Kalashnikovs and a vehicle during an operation while they were attempting to kidnap an individual in Sar-e-Pul province.
According to the ministry, the gang intended to demand $500,000 from the victim’s family for his release.
It is noted that combating kidnapping groups is a priority for the country’s security, defense, and intelligence agencies.
